Two new display tables were added at the Malta Time-gun Museum in Valletta for the display of a collection of original postcards featuring the Saluting Battery over a span of over a 100 years. Given its location below the Upper Barracca Gardens and the fact that a time gun was fired from it at noon and evening the Saluting Battery became a very popular subject for postcards. The earliest postcard on display goes back to the 1890s and features a row of 24pr Blomefield armament mounted on iron garrison carriages. Although printed in the 1890s this postcard uses a photograph that was taken some twenty years before. In total there are some sixty different cards including a Malta Souvenir postcard book.
